Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn.-Benjamin Franklin
My name is Annie Ouimet and I am the Instructional Strategist at Yarmouth Elementary School. I have been in education as a classroom teacher or a special educator for 35 years and am thrilled to be a part of the Yarmouth Elementary School Staff.  I truly love my job!

Many of you may be asking yourself  "What is an Instructional Strategist and how might this educator be involved in my child's education?"  For many of your children, my role in their educational experience is minor. I may spend time in their classroom on a particular project or I may just say hello in the hallway or playground. But for others, I may be more involved with their educational experience.

Here are just some aspects of my job at Y.E.S.:

*Participate in IEP meetings.
*Participate in Child Study Team meetings.
*Administer achievement testing through the Special Education process.
*Support special educators and classroom teachers with suggestions and interventions for student learning.
*Provide support and strategies to students in all areas of academic, emotional and behavioral growth.
*Guide and support parents.
